Meditative is a series of non-objective paintings inspired by a breakthrough moment in Brazilian artist Carin Kulb Dangot’s meditation practice, when she began to perceive a fissure of light particles. Seeking to move beyond mental barriers, she developed layered compositions that echo different brain states experienced during meditation. As she paints for hours in a state of flow, earlier layers dissolve beneath new ones, evoking a quiet sense of sossego.
